THE BATTLE OF LEE CHONG WEI HAS UNITED THE PEOPLE AS ONE - MALAYSIANS

Actually, Lee Chong Wei was naturally astute politically, because his life and deeds defined the significance of 1 Malaysia as Malaysians First, then Malays, Chinese. Indians and others

In the titanic struggle  between him and Lin Dan, where both were of ethnic Chinese in origin,  he fought as a true Malaysian, and the question of being Chinese did not mean he had to give deference to a brother from China, Lee’s motherland.  Lee is ethnically Chinese, but a true and die hard Malaysian in every other aspect of life.

Chong Wei’s instincts were Malaysian – he deployed his skills and experience as best as he could in the hope that he would bring home the Olympic Gold to Malaysia.

He is the ideal Malaysian and is a sterling example for all to follow. He is saying that the people are like him – all Malaysians.  They do not believe in ketuanan melayu, but they fervently believe that they are Malaysians of equal standing, and they are prepared to fight for the honor and glory of Malaysia at all times.
